  • What Season/Times of day do you Operate?
Our main flying season is April 1- October 15 (weather permitting.) We typically only fly tandems in the mornings, though late afternoon flights with suitable conditions are occasionally possible for students who have a flexible schedule and able to arrive on short notice.
  • What is the Experience Level Required to Participate?
A tandem instructional flight is designed to introduce students to the experience of flight and we will teach you everything you need to know in order to participate.
  • What Should I Wear?
Wear comfortable, casual clothing suitable for outdoor activities. Closed-toe shoes suitable for light hiking and running are essential. We recommend layers as we will have a short hike to launch and it tends to be colder during the flight!
  • What Happens on the Day of the Flight?
The entire hour you have scheduled is all part of the instructional experience. It takes about 10 minutes to drive from the meeting area to the parking lot and another 10 minutes for a short hike to the actual take off. At the take off, your instructor will introduce you to the equipment, demonstrate how to set the glider up, and brief you for the flight itself. You can expect to fly for about 5-15 minutes depending on conditions. You will land next to the meeting area and then debrief the flight with your instructor including video review, using your hands-on experience as a guide. Your instructor will provide you with additional ground-school resources including resources for further instruction for students who are interested in pursuing additional training in paragliding.
  • What Age Restrictions Are There?
We can take ages 18+ and have no upper limit! There will be restrictions based off of weight and fitness levels.
  • Are There Any Physical Limitations?
All passengers will need to be able to complete a light, uphill hike of about 10 minutes and be able to run a short distance for take off and landing. Our gliders have minimum and maximum certified weight limits which include the pilot, the student, and all of the equipment. Generally speaking, we can accept passengers ranging from 60-240 lbs and may be able to accommodate a little lighter or heavier depending on the availability of specific instructors. Students who are pregnant or have medical conditions which could impair their ability to participate such as epilepsy, leg or back injuries, cardiovascular conditions, or other conditions should consult their physician for approval and notify their instructor before flying.
  • What if I'm Afraid of Heights?
It might surprise you to learn that many pilots also have a fear of heights! Have you ever stood at the edge of a tall building with a railing to lean on, or looked out the window while sitting comfortably in your seat on a plane? Most people aren't actually afraid of heights, but rather have the fear of falling. Those fears go away when your mind feels secure. While paragliding, the harness we sit in provides a similar kind of psychological comfort where you don't feel at risk of falling and can just enjoy the view. It is a common experience that even those who describe themselves of being scared of heights feel completely at-ease once they are off the ground and seated in the harness.
  • Is Paragliding Safe?
Paragliding is an adventurous and inherently risky extreme sport. You should think of it like other adventure sports such as skydiving, white-water rafting, rock-climbing, or back-country skiing. All of these sports expose participants to the possibility of life threatening and/or life-altering risks. While the only way to completely eliminate risk is to not participate, the risks can be mitigated with proper training, good judgement, well-maintained equipment. Every one of our tandem instructors loves paragliding and the experience of flight so much that we made paragliding a part of our professional and personal lives. We pride ourselves on managing risk in a way that makes participating on a daily basis worth it. Remember, we want to go home smiling too!
  • How Much Does it Cost?
The one-hour tandem instructional flight experience costs $300, and videos are available for an optional purchase at the end of the flight for an additional $30. It is customary and appreciated to tip your instructor if you enjoyed your experience!
  • Can I Take Photos or Videos?
Due to the risk of dropping objects and endangering the general public on the ground as well as security of our students' personal property, we provide a special tethered camera for recording videos and photos of the flight which provide the best-possible angles which are available for purchase at the end of the flight.
  • What if I Need to Cancel?
We require a 24 hour cancellation notice! You will be charged the full amount of the flight if you do not cancel in that time window.
  • How do I Book?
Go to our "Book Now" page through the website and send us a message! You can also call/text us at (303) 335- 9310. We will have online booking set up for the summer starting first week of June!
